If a Russian-Frenchman came over for tea

Sunday, 16 October 2011

In my hiatus from blogging over the past few months, I did however take pictures of stuff. So prepare for an onslaught of pictures, as I clean out my camera.

My brother in law had a little trip to Paris, about a month ago, for work. My sister tagged along for a little holiday. They brought me a beautiful gift back. They know me so well! It is the cutest little set of loose tea leaves. My sister says that it is from a Russian tearoom in Paris.

I present to you Kusmi Tea. I had a look see on Wikipedia, apparently Kusmi Tea is a brand of tea, with headquarters in Paris. The company which produces Russian -style teas and tea blends was established by Pavel Michailovitch Kousmichoff in 1867 in St. Petersburg, Russia. Upon the onset of the Russian Revolution in 1917, Kousmichoff relocated the company to France.

Kusmi Russian teas are blends of Chinese, Indian and Ceylon teas often flavored with cinnamon, bergamot and citrus fruits.

I received a beautiful selection pack, including a tea diffuser. The loose tea leaves are packaged in beautifully crafted tins and arranged in well-crafted packaging. I am in love with the packaging!

Thank you sister and brother-in-law!
