Farewell Friends (1)

Friday, 22 July 2011

This week, the world bid farewell to two talented individuals.

Alex Steinweiss, the creator and originator of artistic album covers, died on Sunday at the age of 94. In 1938, at the tender age of 23, Steinweiss had the idea to create a package that had a visual on the outside to lure customers, in a world where albums came in plain brown paper wrappers. The idea revolutionized the way music was marketed and sold. You can visit his site right here to read more about him.
