Carnivale

Tuesday, 28 June 2011

I, like most people, enjoy a good television series. Generally not on tv, weekly. But, as a bulk. I love watching episode, after episode and forgetting to move/eat/pee/bathe. The cold weather of late, that South Africa has been experiencing, is also not conducive to movement.

I've been watching Carnivale. I know it's quite old (2003-2005). But, it's HBO. I do love HBO. I want to hug HBO. What a nice channel you are, HBO.

Carnivale is set in the 1930s and tells the story of a fugitive, Ben Hawkins, who finds refuge in a traveling Carnivale. There are all types of carnival freaks included: tarot card reader, conjoined twins, bearded lady, a blind mentalist and dwarf.  I actually borrowed the series from Greg (King). We were talking about it yesterday. It's very creepy and eerie, so I have had to alternate watching it with episodes of Absolutely Fabulous (but more about my Patsy Stone addiction another time).

Nice to know that I'm not the only series marathon watcher and now you even gave me an idea for a new one to watch!
