Today is my last day, after a fortnight of peace and quiet,  of semi-vacation. I thought it appropriate to share with the world what I did during this time. I read a lot of stuff everyday. But mostly nerd stuff about design and the creative world. I hardly ever get time to read normal books. So every chance I get, I seem to migrate towards my growing leaning tower of novels and biographies.

Whilst on Facebook yesterday I noticed, that a lot of my friends are doing a quiz thing: BBC Book List Challenge. Two of the books I read recently are on the list, namely, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov and The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Yes, both of the books deal with psychotic pedophiles. I think that is why I have put off reading them for such a long time. Honestly, I have no sense of happiness and finality at the end of either. Maybe I am too much of a hippy and seek some kind of moral retribution at the end. Yes, justice is served, there is a conclusion, but neither is satisfying. I suppose this actually reflects the world we live in today. Bad things happen, to good people. Bad guys go to some institution, good people carry on living. Sorry for my negative book reviews.

P.S. Voting for the Cooked Recipe Challenge ends today at 3pm if you would still like to vote.
