Design Nerds Unite!

Ok I tried to post this earlier but it failed dismally. Thank you work firewalls, you are awesome.
ANYWAY, A nice man called  Arthur Buxton decided it would be fun to break 28 Van Gogh paintings and visualize them as pie charts showing the five most common colours  in percentage value. Rad right?
The second thing I wanted to show you was is a thing called moviebarcode, you can visit the tumblr here. The concept is fairly simple to understand. It provides a unique experience to film viewing in that it compresses every frame in a movie into a single "sliver" and sequentially arranges it into a barcode infographic. The choice of colour can say a lot about a movie. Like the mood, tone and points of view.
Fight Club (1999). 2011/03/10. 109 Notes.
Slumdog Millionaire (2008). 2011/03/04. 62 Notes.
The Big Lebowski (1998). 2011/03/08. 99 Notes.
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind (2004). 2011/03/10. 56 Notes.

Two more nerdzilla stuffs:

A website called GOOD asked people to send in submissions to redesign recipes into infographics. The basic idea, is that a picture is a thousand words and it is easier to understand the cooking process through pictures. You can find all the submissions at This is the solutions from one candidate, Katie Shelly , (you can view all her entries on her blog):

Last piece of cool shit. IKEA, who we all love. Damn those clever Swedish peoples! They have invented a smart little download so you can organize your PC or MAC, just in the same way they help you organize your home! You can download one for yourself right here for FREE. If you get it working let me know, I haven't quite figured it out yet!
