Pretty Perfect Pastry

So last night, to while away the Sunday blues, I decided to indulge in a bit of decadence. On Saturday I met for lunch with one of my dear friends. She is a very brave and courageous soul to me - a hero of sorts. Long story short, she boldly gave up a career to pursue a dream. The last two times I have seen her, she has presented me with a box of her absolutely DIVINE delights. This time it was macaroons. All I can say is WOW! They are simply phenomenal! I really struggle with restraint and had to savor every mouthful. She makes the entire thing with her own crafty little paws.

The yellow ones are lemon (filled with homemade lemon curd), brown ones are chocolate (filled with proper ganache) and the white ones are caramel (filled with homemade caramel). I was completely and utterly blown away. If you ever want to treat your tastebuds to a mouthgasm, please do yourself a favor and get your grubby little hands on a box of these sublime mouthwatering treats. I salivate quietly now, with the fond memory.

I really think everyone NEEDS to try Nicole's macaroons, petit fours, pastries, and the list goes on. You can do so in one of two ways: 083 627 2776 or email her at: Trust me on this one!

To accompany my greedy munching, I popped "Interview with The Vampire" into my DVD player. I haven't seen it in years. Its still amazeballs. Any movie consisting of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Christian Slater, Kirsten Dunst and Antonio Banderas can surely not go wrong. Holy moley I really appreciated the production design, costume design and timing this time round! So there you go, two very beautiful things of beauty to end a very awesome weekend.

Awww! Thanks Jennaaaa! You are my favorite saffa kid.

Kirsten Dunst does make a strangely good creepy kid though…somethings never change.
